STATUS: FULL-TIME, TEMPORARY (APPROX. END DATE FEBRUARY 2026)
WAGE RATE: $43.19 – $60.83
Reporting to the Manager of Emergency and Ambulatory Care, the Nursing Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day activities in the Emergency Department. The Coordinator oversees the care given by other professionals in the department and provides direct care as required. The Coordinator is responsible for staff scheduling, patient movement and flow, daily staffing assignments, maintaining equipment and supplies necessary for the delivery of care, and will act as a role model for staff in promoting multi-disciplinary communication, co-ordination of care and implementation of evidence based best practice within the critical care unit. The Coordinator will be expect to participate in corporate committees and to work collaboratively with other departments and sites within the corporation.
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications
- Ontario College of Nurses registration
- Successful completion of ACLS, PALS, CTAS, CPI, and Code Blue
- Physical Assessment Course or equivalent
- Arrhythmia interpretation
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience in staff scheduling and knowledge of ONA and OPSEU contracts
- Minimum 2 years recent Emergency nursing experience
- Recent experience in a coordinator or other leadership role
- Knowledge of, and experience with current legislation governing Nursing Clinical Practice in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario Excellent assessment skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families and other health care processionals
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, decision-making and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education
- Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
- Willingness to coach and mentor new staff and students
- Willingness to participate in unit specific projects
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records

- Baccalaureate degree in nursing
