Reporting to the Director, Medical Affairs the Medical Affairs Coordinator provides administrative support to the medical staff at Brightshores Health System. This role’s primary portfolio includes coordination of physician recruitment activities including maintenance of job postings, liaising with physician candidates, coordinating and participation in job fairs, facilitating site visits and supporting physician onboarding and orientation activities. Further, this position will provide general administrative support for Medical Affairs, as assigned.

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications

Required

  • Diploma in Health Administration or Office Administration
  • Three to five years’ experience with increasing responsibilities in healthcare administration, human resources or a related field
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under time constraints while balancing competing priorities
  • Proven skills to successfully communicate and establish effective working relationships with all levels of staff and various clients and stakeholders
  • Proven critical thinking skills and ability to problem solve independently
  • Demonstrated skill in managing staff schedules or similar
  • Highly organized with particular attention to detail
  • Experience drafting internal and external communications, memos, and presentations
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of people with varied cultural and ethnic background
  • Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality, act with discretion
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, within the context of normal part-time hours
  • Superior skills in minute taking and written and verbal communication
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Internet based applications (to be tested)
  • Valid (class G) driver’s license, ability to travel, reliable and insurable vehicle
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Brightshores ‘CARE’ Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence)
  • Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes

Preferred

  • Work experience in a Health Care environment with Physician interaction
