Position Precis:

The Department of Hospitalist Medicine is looking to expand its complement of permanent and locum physicians. Supported by 1 full-time Nurse Practitioner, our team schedules four Hospitalists per weekday. There are full (34 wks/yr) and part-time (10+ wks/yr) positions, and locum weeks also available. Flexible scheduling is encouraged and supported.

Qualifications:

Interested candidates should be CCFP and have an independent license to practice in Ontario.

A minimum of 2 weeks locum coverage is recommended as part of the recruitment process.

Remuneration:

Competitive daily stipend.

HOCC allowance.

FFS evening and weekend billings.

Hospital based office and computer provided.

Relocation allowance and other recruitment incentives for permanent physicians.

About the Hospitalist Medicine Department:

Hospitalists provide care for non-critical care medical and/or surgical patients over the age of 18. On-Call support also includes rehabilitation and psychogeriatric units. Each Hospitalist carries a maximum patient load of ~15 patients. The average on-call commitment includes 2 weeknights and 1 in 4 weekends. There is excellent support from consultant specialists and the emergency department, as well 24-hour labs and comprehensive diagnostic imaging (CT, MRI, PACS capability). Educational affiliations with the Rural Ontario Medical Program (ROMP) and the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry provide a wide range of teaching opportunities.
