Position Precis:
We have opportunities available for 3-4 FTE family physicians to join our FHO and become part of the Owen Sound Family Health Team
This is a great opportunity for a physician to join the Owen Sound Family Health Team. We have a full complement of Allied Health professionals including social work, dieticians, pharmacist, nurse practitioners ,occupational therapist, respiratory therapist and nurses.
We have a beautiful facility located on the water in Owen Sound that also houses diagnostic imaging for plain films and ultrasound, pharmacy, dental, physiotherapy and oxygen therapy as well as a wonderful European bakery.
We have a well-equipped clinic along with procedural rooms that would be available turnkey to any new associate.
As well as office based care, opportunity exists in Owen Sound for obstetrics, inpatient care, surgical assist, emergency, palliative care (our new hospice Chapman House under construction.)
We have active programs for chronic disease management which helps immensely in patient management.
There are also teaching opportunities available.
We are an active site for the 2 year family practice residency at McMaster and also active with students from other universities as well.

About the Family Medicine Department:
Each of Brightshores’ six hospitals has a family medicine department. There are independent, group and clinic models of practice across the corporation. In the rural hospitals, family physicians provide 24/7 emergency coverage and GP anesthesia in three hospitals. The urban hospital in Owen Sound includes a small number of family physicians who continue with emergency and obstetrics practices, in addition to their office practices and inpatient care.
