STATUS: PART-TIME, TEMPORARY (APPROX. END DATE JULY 2025)
WAGE RATE: $39.16 – $50.77
Reporting to the Manager, the BSW/MHC-B will implement services meeting the needs of individuals with symptoms of mental health and addiction illness, utilizing Recovery Principles. The BSW/MHC-B must be able to function independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively with multiple partners. This position requires travel within the catchment area of Grey and Bruce County. The main responsibility will be to work in the Crisis Support Program with the understanding they may be deployed to support the Crisis Intervention Team, Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, or the Outpatient Mental Health Team as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
BSW:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and membership in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)
MHC-B:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related health or Social Service field
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
Both:
- Minimum 5 years recent experience working in the community with individuals with significant mental health needs
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and familiarity with DSM-V
- Training and experience in Brief Solution-Focused Therapy
- Training and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Training and experience in Single Session Therapy
- Training and experience in Group therapy
- Training and experience in Dialectical Behavior Therapy
- Knowledge and appreciation of Recovery Principles
- Knowledge of side effects of medication and strategies to cope with those side effects
- P.I. training up to date
- P.R. – basic certification
- Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ driver’s license and access to reliable transportation – traveling may be required
- Proven ability to work cooperatively in a team setting
- Able to work all shifts, 24/7 (days, nights, evenings and weekends)
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record
