WAGE RATE: $40.36 – $56.30

Reporting to the Manager, Interprofessional Practice, the Physiotherapist assesses patients, and plans and carries out individually designed treatment programs to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical deconditioning in patients. The work assignment is on the Rehabilitation Unit in Owen Sound.

Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Physiotherapy and are a member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Current Independent Practice Certificate
  • Excellent professional judgment, conflict resolution and interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, team members, students and community partners
  • Competence in the practice of evidence-based Physiotherapy and inter professional care, with experience in the application of practice models and outcome measures
  • Experience with rehabilitation recovery principles for both stroke and non-stroke patients
  • Knowledge and experience utilizing Teach Back and other Principles of Adult Learning
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, sound judgment, analytical thinking and initiative
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Available for weekend shift coverage as required
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of carrying out supportive treatment plans for patients requiring extra support due to cognitive, neurological and/or physical impairment or injury
  • Experience and comfort assigning and supervising Physical Therapy Assistant as per college guidelines
  • Willingness to seek out and attend educational opportunities to increase knowledge and skills for providing post-stroke care with a rehabilitation setting
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
