WAGE RATE: $39.07 – $56.00
The Registered Nurse (RN) acts as part of a multidisciplinary team, reporting to the Medical Imaging Manager, providing care for patients in the Medical Imaging and Cardiology Departments. The RN provides direct patient care in the Medical Imaging and Cardiology Departments as they use their knowledge, skills and judgement to guide patient outcomes. The RN practices according to the College of Nurses of Ontario standards in keeping with the policies, procedures and standards of Brightshores and will meet the ethical and legal requirements of professional practice.
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications
Required:
- Ontario College of Nurses registration
- Recent Medical Imaging nursing experience (i.e. procedural sedation, managing contrast reactions interventional procedural care, pre, during, and post exam, Cardiac CT)
- PICC Excellence Certification or equivalent, or willingness to obtain
- Recent experience in a Critical Care setting
- Operating room experience and/or OR course
- Physical Assessment Course
- Successful completion of Post Anaesthetic Course
- Venipuncture Certification
- IV meds below the drip chamber
- Demonstrated ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Physically capable of standing for long periods while wearing lead apron
- Demonstrated computer skills in MS Outlook and Cerner applications or equivalent
- Demonstrated team player that enhances the multidisciplinary team
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrates an ability to think critically and respond effectively in emergency situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service and collaboration skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals
- Excellent leadership, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal skills
- Ongoing participation with College of Nurses Reflective Practice
- Willingness to routinely participate in staff meetings and unit specific projects
- Completion of all unit specific certifications and Delegated Medical Acts or willingness to do so within allotted time frame
- Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record

Preferred
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
- CPR, ACLS and/or PALS
