Brightshores Health System is thrilled to announce an expansion of services with the commencement of outpatient endoscopy procedures at the state-of-the-art Markdale Hospital starting Monday, January 29, 2024. The introduction of outpatient endoscopy services is a testament to the collaborative efforts of our staff and physicians to enhance healthcare options in the region.
General Surgeons at Brightshores Markdale will lead the outpatient endoscopy program, providing expert care in a convenient and modern setting. The procedures will take place on Mondays each week, with plans for expansion as the program grows to meet the evolving needs of the community.
The outpatient endoscopy services will be conducted in a dedicated procedure room equipped with the latest technology to ensure the highest standard of care. Located in the Ambulatory Care space inside the Markdale Hospital, the facility boasts a pass-through to the Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD) for efficient and thorough equipment cleaning, ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.
Patients requiring endoscopy procedures can schedule appointments through their general surgeon’s office. This streamlined process ensures that individuals receive timely and personalized care tailored to their specific needs.
“We are excited to introduce outpatient endoscopy services at Markdale Hospital,” says Jennifer Ouellette, Site Manager, adding “This is a development that aligns with our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive, accessible, and high-quality healthcare services to the community. We are dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs of our patients while leveraging the excellent facilities and space available in the Hospital.”
The outpatient endoscopy program will feature a 3-bay recovery room, ensuring that patients receive attentive post-procedural care in a comfortable and supportive environment.
